I had a baby 10 days ago. The bleeding has stopped but it itches like CRAZY!!! it doesnt really hurt just itches. how can i make the itch stop

Itching is common when the tissue starts healing. You can soothe the area with witch hazel pads (or Tucks) and ask your doctor about an anti-itch cream or spray that is suitable for perineal use.

You can also try soaking in an oatmeal bath.

Try the Tucks pads. I found those worked the best. Also Cortisone 10 cream is good too. Just be sure to follow the direstions. Try to keep the area clean and dry , as that could be a cause of irritation. Oh, and don't scratch!

They sell a spray that works great for that. The hospital should have given you some. It most likely means that you are healing. If it gets too bad you may want to go to your Dr. to have it checked in case of an infection,

The hospital should have given you some anesthesia spray...it is supposed to help with the itching and possible soreness. also using witch hazel pads that the hospital gives you is supposed to help

I had a reaction to the stitches my midwife removed them for me! Yes they were dissolving one but it was driving me crazy!! She said it was like a allergy to them!! So as the tear was well on the way to healed she took them out.

rise with cool water and there is a spray that will help...shoot cant recall the name it is sold at Wal-mart...ask the pharmacist often the hospital will send you home with some...call them it is a numbing spray feels cold and helps tons!!! also presoaked witchhazel pads are soothing for that

I found that using witch hazel pads (Tucks) helped give me some relief.
