what about doing a biography of each one? you can do a scrapbook or a nice poster board of each of them... then tie it in together to be your mom meeting your dad, and then them having kids.

something like.... ___ was born, blah blah blah (chlidhood history) and meanwhile over in ___ (whatever state/county, etc) my dad was doing ___. basically compare their childhoods in a sense.

sorry im not much help! good luck!

What about finding the major event in history for various years across that span of time and scrapbooking the headline (e.g., John F. Kennedy assassinated) and a brief comment from parents about what they remember from that time (e.g., where they were, etc.). This will be very interesting to the viewer/reader as they will begin to think of what they were doing at that time and will draw them into the scrapbook. Also, you can probably find some good GIFs on the web to document the history side (e.g. man walks on the moon, JFK death, Bobby Kennedy, John Lennon, World Trade, etc.)! Good luck and whatever you do, I hope you have fun with it!

Have you asked them yet? I'll bet the assignment really means you are supposed to talk to your parents.
