Just wondering what a 1919 penny would be worth today.

that depends on the condition, which mint produced it, and if it has any defects. If it came out of your pocket or ash-tray, it'd be worth $0.01.

I know this one coz just a couple of days ago I picked up some early date Wheat cents and one of them was a 1919. It was placed by the dealer in the pre-1930 common cents box. I paid 40 cents for each of the cents including 1919. They're in average condition with all letters legible.

It's value is around .10 to .30 cents in circulated grades. With a mintage of 392,021,000. it is not a scarce cent. you have an an item that has more historical value than a monetary one. 1919 was the start of the Flapper culture and the roaring twenties. World war I was over and things looked good. A cent could buy quite a bit back then, no one tossed them in the street.
