I mean... I am a Patriots fan. And I don't think I ever would of realized what dirt some fans are when your team starts winning. I mean... it's sad. Can't we be happy for the success of other teams? I know I am... you see I am football fan first and a Patriots fan second. I very much feel it is just sad that we can't be happy for eachother's team. I mean... yeah, I see things I disagree with in watching football & the way some players are. And to compare the Patriots with dirty players and people that are cheaters is just rediculous. I have met many of the Patriots and they are some of the nicest people you will ever of met... some of them aren't so nice, but hey... happens everywhere. And as a Patriots fan & NFL fan I have known this type of videotaping has been going on for a while now, thing is... it's not the kind of videotaping that would gain a team any kind of competitive edge... look up the video on youtube and you decide.

Belicheck is the most meticulous coach in the NFL, that's why he is the best at what he does. This has been refined over YEARS in the NFL as an asisstant, coordinator and one failed run as a head coach. He has taught himself many things... first and foremost to win... and to win by perfecting what he does and doing what any other coach does in the NFL. I mean... all this is really just a way of cutting people down. Although it's the same thing fans did to the Cowboys,49ers,Steelers,Dolphins and Packers,etc. All of these teams did similar things and fans just use it to make themselves feel better about the fact their team is inferior. Thing is though... as long there is a dominant football team there will be whiny fans. And just like all those other dominant teams... people didn't like them then... but they respect them now... just like people will eventually all do for the Patriots.

To all the negative responses... it just sucks having to hear over and over and over again what garbage our team is when we have won three superbowls. This was even said when there wasn't this excuse of "cheating" and saying we were no good made zero sense. You wait... when your team eventually becomes good see how much you like it... being called smug just because we don't like our team trashed on a 24hour basis just for being good.

Look, The Patriots have a long history of this kind of thing
Who can ever forget the time they sent an ex-con out with a snow brush machine to clear a spot for the kicker in a playoff game against the Dolphins?
Who can ever forget the questionable tuck rule call in which Brady fumbled away the game only to have it given back by the official?
Who can forget freezing the field to slow the Colt offense despite being ordered by the league to cover it?
Who can forget Willie McGinnest faking an injury to gain an additional "timeout" in the 2004 opener which ultimately decided homefield advantage in the divisional playoff?
Why is your safety Rodney Harrison consistently voted "the dirtiest player in football" by the other players in the league?
This videotaping incident is simply the latest incident.
I've admired the Patriots as a worthy opponent for years but this latest incident is simply over the top and it is the suspicious actions of the league office and the Patriots in the destruction of evidence which is most damning. If the Patriots were innocent then why weren't they demanding that their good name be cleared and the evidence be shown? I'm sorry but their silence is deafening.
edit: Terry, I hear you man! Remember 1990 when the Patriots went 1-15 followed by 1991 when the Colts did the same? It makes the last few years all the sweeter! :)

It seems as though you're asking the question and not being so nice about expressing your reactions to the responses.
Let's face it, it's not that everyone hates the Pats, think they suck or think they are a bunch of cheaters.. honestly it's the fans that support them that people hate. The majority, not all, are a bunch of arrogant snot heads who are quick to say how many SB they have won when someone asks about their record during any season after their last appearance in the SB.
It's like asking the question, what will become of the Packers after Farve is gone and Driver doesn't have anyone that he can trust that will get the ball to him? I'm a huge Bears fan and I know we aren't having a great season. BUT, that doesn't mean Im going to say every single time someone mentions it, "yeah, well, we made it to the SB with an inconsistent QB.. doesn't matter if we didn't win, we still made it." I live by the principle, there is always next season.
Besides, people cheat all the time. It's part of human nature to become so obssessed with winning that you want to have an extra advantage. I wouldn't let other fans get to you that way. Let them think what they want. Most of the time it's out of frustration that their team has not been progressing as well as they thought they would.

You would be smug too if you had the greatest football coach ever along with the best playoff QB in history.
But about the rant I agree 100%. Many people dislike the pats because they win. Period. Its pure and simple. Call me smug, call me arrogant, but you cant call me a liar because this is true. The pats are not the only ones who bend the rules; LT wears a dark visor so defenders cant see where his eyes are pointing, and its a well known fact that defensive lineman spray cooking grease (PAM) onto their jerseys before games so the OL cant get a good grip. It just sucks that people cannot realize that the patriots are a good team, and resort to trashing them like its going out of style. Whatever you haters say, we patriot fans know that our team is one of the best, and whatever you say will not stop Bill Belichek on his way to phoenix.

George D: The reason they destroyed the tapes is out of concern for the Jets and Packers. Do you think they want their signals to be read by anyone who has access to the tapes? Every single team in the league would love to get their hands on that. Now that its destroyed, the packers and jets signals should now be kept secret. And the whole thing about freezing the field to slow the colts offense, it slows the Pats defense too. Snow is good for no one.

Most of the Patriot haters are too young and stupid to know the past futility of the Patriots...We are proud of the fact they are the best team in the NFL...and I would take Tom Brady as my QB EVERY time over Peyton Manning...Brady is the best QB in the NFL because he gets to the playoffs and doesn't choke...Passing yardage and TDs don't mean anything if you can't win games and get to the Super Bowl...

A lot of the problem for Pats fans are moronic shills like Chris Berman and the rest of those clowns at ESPN who are constantly slobbering over them. One day Mike Greenberg is going to leave his wife and kids for Teddy Bruschi. Same thing with the Red Sox, and if the Celtics ever win again they'll get thrown in.

When Belicheck coached the Browns they must not have been able to afford extra cameras. He sucked big time there. It's very easy to complete passes if the coverage is completely exposed. Come on, Jabar Gaffney, Reche Caldwell these guys are 4th and 5th receivers now.
