I am the first born and they say they are leaders,,,why because we take care of our younger children? Do you agree? or not?

First born and top dog.

Yes, probably because we're older, thus more experience and responisbility.

The younger children generally have it easier since the eldest bear a little more responsibility.

I was born first, then my brother two years later , a year after that my mom had another boy who died at one week old from health complications. My brother and I did everything together as children but for some reason when we got older, we never got along. My mom died in 1980 at 58 years old of a brain hemmorhage and since the funeral, my brother and I have been estanged.

There were only two of us, my brother and myself. He passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago this coming Jan. 2 at the age of 51, same age as I am now.

My parents learned their mistakes with him. They let him do all kinds of stuff that I never got to do. He really never did learn the value of a dollar like I did. For some reason he was always jealous of me.

Mom and dad always treated us the same as much as they could. I now take care of them, living right behind their house.

As far as leader goes, he was a leader in his ways and I was a leader in my ways.

I am the second born with four sisters. Maybe we're strange but we have no pecking order. We out grew the sibling rivalry quite some years ago. We don't always see eye to eye on everything but respect each others thoughts and opinions enough to not let it interfere with our relationships. We are each individuals and have our own ways as well as lives.

I am the younger daughter of two , with a 7 year age difference. My older brother never took care of anyone except himself. And the only path he lead was to get himself into trouble.

I think we'd qualify is two only children in the same family due to the age difference.

Birth order is quite interesting.

numero uno...and yes, I took care of my brothers and sister...had the nuns furious with me...I had taught my younger brother to read well before he entered school. Taught him how to print also...he was at least 1/2 grade ahead of everyone else when he started.
My family came in two parts..my brother and I, then 14 years later, a 1/2 brother, then another 3 years, a 1/2 sister...I was stuck with baby sitting all the time...but I got paid for it, was well prepared for my own children ( thankfully, for my wife had no clues about cooking, children, house cleaning..you name it. etc.) .

I'm at the top. I hated having to watch my younger sisters! Now that I'm older things have changed and I'm more in charge of looking after my parents than looking out for my sisters. I don't mind though. I live close and I have the extra time, and my parents don't throw temper tantrums and steal my Barbies!

I was the first born and most assuredly, a leader.

I have a younger sister who was the "Baby Princess" and cried until she got her way for just about everything.

Looking back today, I should have cried too! It probably would have been easier!

I'm the youngest of six and everyone still treats me like the baby (although i'm 31 now). My oldest sibling is my sister and she's hardly a leader type, so i'd disagree with you on that!

Seems to me that the oldest in families is usually the strongest, the most capable. I was the younger of two, and I am not as "together" as my brother in most ways - but I'm much nicer :)
