at the halifax bank you can get something called an expresscash account because you are 14.
You get a debit card (its visa electron) so you will be able to pay for things wherever you see the visa electron sign that includes the internet too and its very widely accepted! So to answer your questions...
1. go to halifax and set up an express cash account
2. the card will be a visa electron
3. you will be able to order stuff online with it!
I had one when i was 11 from there and then when you are 16 they will automatically transfer you onto one of their current adult accounts!

The HSBC has an account for 11-17 year olds called My Account, which you can open with £1, and will issue a Solo card for over 13's. Hope this helps x

Sorry the law prevents you having debit card until you are 16. This is to prevent children getting into debt.
You can have a cheque book with some child bank accounts, which you can use to buy things online. Not everyone accepts cheques and you may have to wait longer for your goods, but its a start.

You can have a bank account but not a debit card at 14, you will have to wait until 18 or if you can prove you earn a wage 16. So no orderring online till then I'm afraid.

my daughter (16 last week) has had a debit card for a couple of years. her account is with the Bank of Scotland, it is a visa electron which some shops dont take and it can be used by some online companies.

If you have a job or other income and
You need to deposit checks or money ,
Then you can get an account & make deposits ,
& use the debit card for purchases up to the amount of your deposits .
What are you doing at 14 that has such high income ?

Why don't you ask your parents to get you like a gift card instead of cash allowance. Like from circuit city so you can buy stuff directly from that store. Or you can open a saviings acct. But talk to your parents first. They can help. You need their permission for a atm card with a visa logo. So long as there is money in your acct. then thats all you can spend. Are you good at math? Then you can be good at saving. For now just try to save your money. Avoid the temtation of buy buy buy.

My 14 year old son has what is called a QUIDITY CARD. It works on the same priciple as a Pay As You Go Phone Card. He can use it in shops and on-line. All he has to do is top it up at our local shop which does PayPoint or at the Post Office with as much or as little as he wants to.

loyds bank will give you a good debit card, a visa will be most likely, and yes you will.
But i do not reccomend this, if you are able to get to a norwich and peterborough branch they give the highest interest rates for people your age esp if you open a headstart account, though you will not get a debit card, you will get a bank book but it is well worth it.
