I am building one in Sonora right now. I paid 210k for the lot and am about 600k into building, permits, payroll and matierials combined. I expect furnature to run me 80-100k. The house is just about done, I have another 40k for the drive way and 20k for a set of stairs outside.

IF you live there , and you actually have the funds to do this , you would know WHERE is a Huge issue .
( Or , Are you just a teenager fantasizing )
But , OK , Barstow maybe $100K ,
Bay area $750K plus furniture
