I am collecting all the state quarters. How long will it take me to collect all the quarters? I have 41 quarters to go and I have 8 quarters that I already have. My grandpa and my uncle also collect the state quarters. I also have the list of state quarters . So I am checking off the quarters I have. I am also going to be ordering the folder that I can put them in. I heard that they are worth only 12.00 after I get all of them in the folder. Is that true?

Considering that one new quarter has been released every 10 weeks since 1999... Just on the math alone will place the completion of the state quarter program by the end of 2009.

Because the quarters are relatively new, they do not have any added "Collectible Value" to it yet. Therefore, the base value of the collection will be $12.50 (50 * $0.25) at the point of completion.

However, the longer you're willing to hold onto the completed collection (a minimum of 20 years), the collection will get an appreciated value beyond the ordinary face value of all the coins... So you'll want to store the coins in a safe place where you can practically forget about them.

Collecting one coin from each state is not a complete collection. There are 2 mints making them for circulation as well as clad and silver proofs. Most people don't know that. 2008 will be the last year and the last quarter will be Hawaii coming out in the fall of that year. Collecting a set of state quarters from change is not easy and is a challenge. Collecting both P and D mint is even more of a challenge. The main thing is, it is fun and not that easy, especially from change. I have done my thing over the years not worrying about how much my coins are worth and buying what I like. In the end I have done better that most so called investors. I always read the book before buying the coin and found it really paid off knowing more than the dealers about different series of coins. just have fun, keep the set to remind you of the fun times.

I don't believe all of them have been released yet. I think they only release 4 per year.... It shouldn't take long to collect the already released ones....just pay attention as they release the new ones.

Thats not true at all. In about 20 years, they will be priceless, the whole collection.
