my catfish is 1 1/2-2 in. it has 2 whiskers comming out of the top of its mouth. it is striped all (with 1 stripe) the way down the side and a half a stripe at the top and bottom. the stripes are black with a white background. (not an eel catfish)

My first guess also would have been a Striped Raph., but if indeed the stripes are black that can't be it...

It sounds like the color pattern of a zebra pleco, but it's physical description doesn't fit (whiskers).

I do not know.

Is it a Striped Raphael Catfish? They are fairly common. It should be a dark brown-black color, with a creamy stripe.

It will eat most anything but meaty foods like bloodworms and brineshrimp are important parts of their diets.

Is it a striped raphael catfish? I think it's mostly that because it's availabe in most pet store these days,

Yes that would catfish as describe above

It would grow to be much longer in size

They usually stay at the bottom of the tank and sometimes go to side of the tank in seach of food.. They eat all the left overs

Anything from flakes, small pellets, blood worms.
