equation 1) 2x + y = 4
equation 2) x - y = 2

from eqn 2:
x - y = 2
x = 2 + y

replacing value of x in eqn 1:

2(2 + y) + y = 4
4 + 2y + y = 4
3y = 4 - 4 = 0
y = 0/3 = 0

therefore: x = 2 + 0 = 2

hope this helps. :)

2x+y=4, x-y=2

Therefore, if x = 2 and y = 0

2 x 2 = 4

and

2 - 0 = 0

I hope this helps! :)

On the first one x and y both = 1
On the second one x=4 and y=2

x-y = 2 → y = x-2

2x + (x-2) = 4 → 3x = 6 → x = 2

y = 2 - 2 = 0

easy!!!
