There are 1000 mg in a gram, so 5000 mg = 5 gm.
There are 1,000,000 mg in a kilogram, so 5000 mg = .005 kg.
There are a lot of other metric measurements for mass, but mg, gm, and kg are the most common.

We need more information.... You could say it's the same mass as 5 grams, or .005 kg... But with a simple question like this it's impossible to give you a definite answer since we don't know what you're looking for.
