Congratulations to John Maine on his great performance today. maybe he didn't get that no hitter but what he did was even more important. he kept the Mets alive in the playoff hunt. Congrats to John Maine.

Real Mets fans please not the ones who went into hiding when the team was in a losing streak & now all of a sudden will show up b/c of what happened today.

I'm not a Mets fan, but I do root for the Mets. I think it's awesome that he almost threw a no-hitter in the situation that he was in: the Mets one day out of first place, and one loss would mean that they would not even be in the playoffs after the expectation of them winning the NL East for so long. The Mets had a five-game losing streak, and to end that losing streak with a performance like that is very good. The offense did an amazing job as well. I also really like John Maine.

You're Right its important the Mets win this Game Rather then Maine getting a No-Hitter that would put much needed attention on one player instead of the Rest of the Team NO Time to greedy.

I'm not a Mets fan (but I do root for them when they don't play the Red Sox 'cause they're my Dad's team), but kudos to you.

Oh sure, the win is the most important outcome...

but throwing a no-hitter while keeping the team's hopes alive? Man, that'd be doin' it with STYLE!
