I'm 35 weeks pregnant and people tell me all the time that I don't look that far along and I'm way too small. I'm sick of hearing it! I went to the doctor last week and he told me to be ready to go at anytime because you never know, I might go early. Since I told my family that they laugh at me and think I'm crazy. As if there's no way I could go early because I'm just too small. I just don't know how to deal with this. I certainly don't feel small. I've gained 40 lbs. Are these people crazy??

Ya I know they're my family but I still think they're nuts. You would have mood swings too if you had to put up with them every freaking day.

Lots of people are crazy, and most people eat too much and gain too much during pregnancy. Tell them that your baby is growing normally, your weight gain is healthy, and they must be used to seeing different body types because everyone carries according to how they are built. And then, avoid them.

Hehe... I gained 40lbs with my pregnancy which is in the reccomended amount of weight gain. People kept telling me that I didn't even look like I was pregnant until I was about 7 months along. I on the other hand felt like a whale. Many woman who have strong abdominal muscles don't appear pregnant until later in the pregnancy. Also since this is your first child I would have everything ready to have the baby at any minute, the diapers, clothes, carseat, and hospital bag, but not expect it for another 5-7 weeks since this is probably your first baby.

So just laugh when people make that comment about how smal you are and say "it certainly doesn't feel that way" then change the subject.

Be thankful that you don't look like a house. ;)

How you carry makes no difference. How much weight you've gained also makes no difference, as long as your uterus is growing and the baby is growing properly, everything is all fine. If your doc isn't worried, then neither should you or family or friends.

I don't think people are saying it to be annoying or mean, in fact, it's probably more of a "Wow, you look great (small) to be so far along!"

Enjoy it and don't freak out on them.

i know many people who were in their 9th month and didn't look like pregnant but this is normal
every woman's body is different.. just be happy you are not big and i hope your delivery will be easy because i think your baby won't be very big.. just be happy and don't mind anyone..
good luck and be prepared because the doctor knows your body more and you might go early

For some reason, some people just can't help but be busybodies about something like pregnancy.

They're all pretty sure they know what's really going on, and have to be the first to tell you.

Smile and nod...smile and nod.

"I personally don't know" But i would'nt be concerned about those people ,"Since" their not going to be the ones thats going to support the child in the first place.'
I'm certainly no doctor by any means, But" on the contrary i just hope the baby is'nt born premature because of this incident."
These people need to be concerned more about your baby than being concerned about humiliating you."
Do any of these losers have jobs by the way?
Their taking applications at McDonalds."

My wife only gained 20 pounds and we had a full term, healthy baby. Don't worry what anyone says except your doctor. If he isn't worried you probably have nothing to worry about either.

i know i hate that too. i'm only 15 weeks but i do have a baby bump. of course it's winter so i weare sweaters and coats. when i tell people i'm prego, they're like "you don't show, youre too small". let me get naked and you'll see how "small i am'. of course you're not gonna see the bump with five layers of clothing on me!!!

as long as your baby is healthy forget about what people say. tell them well i bet you wished you were this small when you were pregnant! you will be the lucky one that goes back to size after the baby!
happy labor day!
