Better still, would you be happy to trust a social worker (trainee or otherwise) who seems to spend all her time online posting personal information about her situation? I don't think I would...but that's just me.

Sorry Barbie, did I mention your name? Can't see it anywhere. I was just asking a question.

Steph, yes you're unblocked. After having a rethink I think your bark is worse than your bite...

No I wouldn't be happy at all.
I doubt very much if the employers of whoever the person is would be very impressed.
What is a surprise to me is that such a person would find time, with such a hectic schedule, to spend posting anything on Q & A.
Mind you Q & A is a place where people pretend so the Social Worker could be a toilet cleaner for all we know.

I have not seen any social worker break any confidentiality issues on here. There is a social worker on here who just gives professional opinions on things. I hear she was given some time off for school to better her job and because she has worked so hard and deserves some time off. Good for her. I bet she has done alot of good for the children in her area to deserve such a reward.

I have not seen anyone on YA do that, if YOU are a Social Worker and thinking of doing that I would advise you to seriously think again and not do so.

They should never share information about others but I don't see the problem in them doing whatever they want to online in their own personal time... being a social worker is only a job and so long as they do their job well then why should it matter if they go on the internet and talk about their personal situations at other times...

If you are talking about Barbie, why can't she post that she is? I post that I am also a student, so what? I don't understand what the problem is in posting what you do as a living? If she was discussing her case load adn talkign about clients that she see's ect, ofcourse it would be a breach but I haven't once come accross her or anyone else for that matter... But I don't read all questions/answers. Wht she does for leisure (going onto yahoo), isnt a crime! It kept me sane throughout my maternity leave and I spent alot of time on here(even went through a bit of my labour too!LOL). Doesnt make me a bad person. We shouldnt be so quick to judge is all i'm saying. I have found alot of good friends through this site, love makes the world go round!

how can a social worker spend all their time online, are they not always saying they're overworked and that resources are stretched? Are they fibbing then?

Elvis, haven't you recently put out a question asking why people are posting questions in News and Events that do not fit that catorgery, is this question related to News and Events?

If she/he needed support, it's just the same as us posting our situations here, Im sure they wouldn't exactly be using there real names, etc, online, so I don't see any problem with it.
