But the cell phone and other phones ,no one bothers about . Even the local and state police use them driving down the road , and not all police are buckled in ..

Seatbelt laws were only enacted to raise revenue under the guise of safety

First the lawmakers said we really need to increase seatbelt usage, after all it not fair that someone is injured and we the people have to pay for them because they didn’t buckle up. So in order to encourage people to buckle up, if a person is stopped, for something else, they can be given a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. Oh there won’t be a fine, the person will only get points on their license and their insurance company will raise their rates.

A short time later the same lawmaker say, this law is so important that there really need to be a fine, say $10 but only if the police stop a person for something else first. It won’t be the primary reason to stop a person.

A short time after that the lawmakers say, you know if the police can clearly see a person isn’t wearing a seatbelt they should be able to stop them for failure to wear a seatbelt, oh and the fine should be a little higher say $25 to make sure the person know we’re really serious.

A short time after that, you know people just don’t take the law seriously, so we need to raise the fine say to $100.

So now the police are revenue generators. The lawmakers expect the police to generate so much revenue, so really most of laws for our safety are really a tax with the police as tax collectors.

Then the lawmakers wonder why people don’t respect the police.

I agree that seat belts save lives. As far as laws and the police, they too, are covered by them. You just need to contact the proper people. We just had a Sheriffs deputy suspended for not making a "ride along" passenger buckle up. They had a wreck and the passenger was killed.

Whine, Whine, Whine. Go ride with your local police and you'll see they do a whole lot of stuff while they drive. It's all part of the training they receive. Seat belts save lives and one should always wear one, especially if the vehicle is equipped with an airbag.

Seat belts save lives. My daughter and I are living proof of this.

Who polices the police? Write down the time, place and car number. Call the mayor's office or the county office and file complaints. Do not call the police, they won't care.
