I have a weed wacker that uses 40:1 mix and a leaf blower that uses 50:1 mix. Can I use the 40:1 mix for the blower? Hate having to keep another gas tank.

I run all my two cycle engines on 50:1 fuel. Most newer engines are designed to run on a 50:1 mix. Older engines call for a richer mix. Since those older engines were made, oils have improved. So a 50:1 mix with today's oils will lubricate as well as a richer mix would have in the past. Also, a 50:1 mix is less likely to foul spark plugs than a 40:1 mix. Just make sure to use a high quality oil that is meant for a 50:1 mix.

I am just a average home owner having owned and used a lot of different gas ratios and anything close to a 40:1 will run any piece of outdoor equiptment unless it is lower than 25:1 .

Just make a 50:1 mix, and when you fuel the weedeater, add a little extra oil to the tank.
