Nothing will keep us secure, or prevent terrorist attacks.
We can only hold drills and practice different scenarios.
It is my personal belief is that the true crux or foundation of the matter surronds the issue of rich and poor and NOT race, religion, or land masses. The Rich are greedy, the Poor are jealous. This problem has existed since the beginning of time! Even between God and Satin! The answer is communication and compromise, but, nobody is listening!
Perhaps this is easier said than done.

Terrorism is a threat to a free society, because sometimes the only way to defend against it (as opposed to going on the offensive and killing them where they breed) is to limit freedoms internally. Even the freest countries have had to sacrifice individual freedoms during wartime, and terrorism campaigns have the advantage of creating a perpetual wartime. Thus, even just a few terrorist acts can have the desired effect of destroying free societies.

The only hope for the preservation of liberty is for those who have the good fortune to live in it to be aware of its value, to be educated in its history and the sacrifices necessary to preserve it. Most important, the predominant philosophy of a free society must include an INTOLERANCE of any and all threats to liberty, including terrorism.

The fight against terrorism will go nowhere without a fundamental affirmation of our own values. The Muslim extremists seem to know that, but the West still does not.

Freedom and liberty are not free.

The cost includes the risk of being attacked as we have been, not by our own government (sheesh, talk about stupid) but by crazy misguided individuals who weren't the emissaries of any other government either. We can be watchful, careful. We can report suspicious behavior when we see it, instead of letting someone else do it.

And we can hope and pray that enough of that happens to stop anything major from happening.

But there is no simple answer, and no sure one. It is a cost of living as we do. Think about it, there wasn't a whole lot of terrorism in the USSR when the communists were running things. Not a lot of life or goodness either.

Like love and loss, you want one, you are going to have to accept (not necessarily like, but accept) the existence of the other.

Throw the Bush regime in a maximum security prison somewhere on....the moon. The only terrorists that attacked us was the government. The government has spread more fear and terror in us than the middle east has ever been able to do.

We can protect our freedoms by refusing, under any circumstances, to give them away, even to our government, for any reason. We must stand up to our own government even when there are nutjobs that just want us scared shitless. When we can do that, we can protect ourselves from terrorism.

Terrorism is rooted in politics, so you can't put politics aside if you want to be safe from terrorism.

Plus, the reality is that Timothy McVeigh proved in Oklahoma City that life can never be completely safe from anything, including terrorism.

None of us are safe until we're dead.

To be honest it would take locking-down our boarders, and don't let anyone in period. That would solve everything. I understand that foreign students to go to college here, that's fine, but do a through background check before, durring and after thet get here, then leave and don't come back. Yeah it maybe cold, but it would keep me secure. Think of it as a restruant, you go in, sit down, eat then leave.

Terrorism will exist in one form or another. If it isn't Islamic Extremists, then there will be another.

It is fear that gives terrorists power. As long as people are afraid, terrorism will always exist.

The answer is the Wage Peace, not wage war. We must openly trade and have cultural exchange with the Islamic world.
Waging peace is less expensive than waging war. Perhaps that is why the Big Government doesn't wage peace. They like the Big Contracts for their supporters.

Death. There is no safety, security is an illusion. Stay in your bed and hide and some idiot will drop a jet engine on your head.
