The needles come w/a simple scarf pattern, but I wondered if anyone had any other patterns. Lionbrand website only has patterns for size 50 needles.
Thank you!

Thank you both. I'm confused about the pattern, if you decrease only one stitch each row, wouldn't you been knitting 200 rows to get from 250 to 50 and wouldn't that be huge? is this for a shawl?

Don't know if this is for size 35 but here is an idea.
You can make a "jacket". Measure yourself around your hips. Then measure in front alone and divide that by two and increase each side of the front by an inch because you will need it to sew seams together. Do the same for the back increase one inch both sides. Crochet a chain of yarn to measure the front or back (which ever you want to do first). Make sure your chain is in multiples of five. Using a regular crochet hook insert into each stitch of your chain and slip them onto your 35 needle. Turn and take 5 stitches off the large needle and do 5 sc in the center of the 5 loop. Do this across. Turn and make the same loops by inserting the thread into the 5 chain you just put into the loops. Sew the pieces together. You know how much to allow for your arms to go through. You should take the measurments around the arm opening to make sleeves. You can make a lot of things using this method. Scarfs, afghans, etc. If there are any mistakes in this it is because I was visualizing making it while giving you the instructions.

On needles that size (I have a pair of 25s) I run two strands of yarn together and knit things like a throw blanket or a ruana or a really simple jacket pattern. Use one strand of plain worsted (4) yarn and one strand of bulky (5) or super bulky (6) fuzzy yarn. My favorites for this are both from the Red Heart line. Red Heart Classic is a great worsted, and Red Heart Light & Lofty is a wonderful super bulky. Both come in a good range of colors. If the Light & Lofty doesn't come in exactly your color, pick a neutral and pair it with your color from the Classics line. I use and recommend Red Heart because it's the only brand of yarn with which I have never had surprises -- shrinking, stretching, changing thickness in the skein, etc. With all the work I put into a knit item, I do not want it sabotaged by surprises. Even the Light & Lofty is reworkable (rip out a mistake and redo it without killing your yarn) and machine washable and dryable. I can explain how to draw your own really simple jacket pattern if you want to do that. Email me by clicking on my avatar for an email link.

giggle giggle!! and everyone calls me crazy for knitting on the 35 needles!!
I cast on about 250 stitches using a sports weight yarn. Knit 6 rows. knit 1, knit 2 tog, k across every row til you have only 50 stitches left. Bind off loosely.
I used mohair on that project. Have sold a dozen of them for near $500 each!! Did some more in wool and only sold one of them.

Big Needle Knitting (Paperback)
by Bobbie Matela (Editor)
Rattner, The Official Knit-A-Dress-A-Day Knitting Book, Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1968. An outrageous look at high fashion knitting in the late '60s - knit a minidress on jumbo needles, then learn how to crochet ping-pong ball covers and use them on your fashions
I recommend that you just fake it. Using 3 strands of yarn, cast on and knit a swatch till you get a sense of your gauge. then create patterns to match. two rectangles and two squares is a cute sweater. knit 5 purl 5 for 8 rows, then purl 5 knit 5 for 8 rows, makes a great basketweave pattern good for scarves and afghans. One big rectangle, poncho.

my favorite scarf pattern is...
co 8 stitches
r1:k1, *yo, k1* *repeat to end of row
r2:k1, *drop yo, k1*
repeat these two rows
i love to use funky selfstripping thick yarn
the reason i only cast on 8 stitches is because i live in the south and like my scarfs skinny, for fashion purposes and do like to wrap around my neck twice.
i never got any complants from anyone as a gift either. but i usually us needle size us 15 or 17.
good luck.
