My favorite team is the Washington Capitals. I would also like to say that they will improve the most but the Flyers will be really good if their goaltending is decent. I was at the Caps vs. Flyers preseason last night and they have alot of fire power but Nittimaki gave up 4 in the third to give it away. Assuming that Biron is the starter and plays like he did as a back up for the Sabres, they should be ok. If he gets hurt or he plays like he did as a starter for the Sabres a few years ago, they are in trouble. The Islanders will fall from the ranks of the playoff teams to the lottery this year.

My team is the Pittsburgh Penguins (life-long fan!)
The most improved team will be the Carolina Hurricanes (missing the playoffs last season will do them wonders this season...a well-rested and motivated Cam Ward will be dangerous).
The team ripe for a downfall? The Anaheim Ducks will suffer from Stanley Cup hangover in the worst way. No Niedermayer, no Selanne, early injuries to Schneider and Gigure, and the absense of Penner equal a team watching the playoffs instead of participating in them.

My favorite team is still Detroit Redwings. It is the Russian players they still have that make the team good. Even though they did not make it too well last year.
I think the Los Angeles Kings will improve the most, heck, they can't go any lower considering last year.
The Carolina Hurricane will fall.
This is not related to the question, but why is this year schedule so weird that majority of the game are played against teams in the same division. I was hoping to see some East Coast team to play on the West Coast side. I noticed East Coast team seems to play more aggressive, something that West Coast should experience.

My favourite team, the Los Angeles Kings. I also think they will improve the most this year, even make it to the playoffs. As for downfall teams, the Boston Bruins. They've got nothing left in the talent department.

Favorite team = Florida Panthers Improved team = The Panthers ( we made a few changes) Falling Team =Edmonton ; no real reason, just a feeling.

Favorite--Wings since I was like born.
Improvement--Flyers, look at there offseason
Fall--Ducks, niedermayer out (even if he signs--suspended for a while), selanne out--missed preaseason which will still affect him, schnieder injured for first month.
