Yes and no:

Yes because you can voice your thoughts, ideas, op-ions, ideas etc. and prob. won't feel awkward about doing so.

No because there is a time and place for everything. For example you don't berate a co worker in front of the public. Yes they may need a talking to, but it can be done nicely and behind closed doors.

Sorry if I didn't help any.

Depends on the situation really. It's no good being outspoken about how great the Xeon party are at a Lib/Dem meeting for example - and would probably just get you lynched (or at the least - removed from the hall).
But if there is something worth changing or making a point about - than yes - it is a really good thing.

I am a very outspoken person. It has got me into loads of trouble but has also won me lots of respect in other areas. I cannot tolerate injustice or cruelty in any form and will always speak up. I have been sworn at, screamed at, hit (once) but also praised, hand shaken and hugged often. I believe that if your point needs to be made - make it. Not including silly, petty stuff but proper meaningful stuff.

a lot depends on the situation

some people have an opinion about EVERYTHING whether it concerns them or not - that just annoys people

then there are those who ought to speak out, say against injustice and don't - that is a bad thing too

i guess there is a happy medium somewhere along the line - i did find this quote from the bible 'speak the truth in love' which i think straddles the above quandary nicely methinks. IE say it as it is but say it from a caring heart.

I am very outspoken. There have been plenty of times in my life where I have been in situations that are not only irritating me but also other people. Most people are like sheep. They all complain and say that they are going to say that its wrong or unfair etc. But they don't and then I do and then everyone looks at you like a skidmark, because you have said. Why don't people stand up and say?

I think that we need to have people who speak out. When we shut people up, then we cannot really understand all sides to make good decisions. It may be a pain to some people, but it is needed in an open society. Even if it is not something you like, it is necessary to support the right to speak up about it, otherwise your thoughts will be the next that cannot be spoken.

It's good to stand up for what you believe in but there's a difference between being Strong-minded and being rude! If it's none of your business then don't try to oppose your opinions on anyone else! If I'm passionate about something then I'll stand my ground every time but I don't argue for the sake of it or just to listen to my own voice!
