Is it considered too short?? Or is it reasonable, considering that it is a factual book and not a novel.

I am a high school senior and it's a factual-report-type of book. No, it's not a children's book, and the material is quite informative. And I don't have time to extend the length.

Non-fiction books of that length are called "pamphlets" - there are many examples of such.

(The word sounds insulting, but it's not - if you've said everything you want in 65 pages then it's long enough).

65 pages is a bit short. However is that 65 pages of a novel, or is that 65 pages in your word processor. I wrote a book once, and I decided to see how many book pages I could type out as letter sized. It turns out you get almost exactly two book pages on each letter sized page. So if you're looking at 65 pages in your word processor, it's actually more like 130 pages in a book, and that's quite respectable already.

Good luck.

Typically, 65 pages in a nonfiction work would only be the first two chapters. However, some small presses might be interested if it is a fresh or distinctive topic.

It's fine. Consider how popular Animorphs by K.A. Applegate is. All the books are that short. Is it a help guide? Like the For Dummies series? Or a biography?

I've seen it done before, but not often. It would have to be something really special to garner a publisher's attention at that length.

Really, something that length is almost more of a pamphlet. I think I've seen journal articles that are almost that long - so that might be a route to publication for you too.

Not really. You could take an extract of it and have it published in a journal.

(EDIT: Unless it's aimed at children, I suppose. I really don't know, as I don't work in publishing. Just send it off and see.

EDIT 2: Or ask your agent/a friend in the know.)
