problem in starting my dell inspiron 1520 notebook.?

i just purchased a dell inspiron 1520 pc which was just delivered. i charged the system for 5 hrs. then i tried to switch on the system but in vain. the system is not switchin on which I press the power button. what might be the prob. pl help

If it would not even turn on while AC adapter is plugged, return it.

keep "Power button" press for few seconds more.
Don't immediately remove your finger when pressing power button.
