Okay, time for an actual biologist (me) to weigh in on this question. The weight is NOT "converted to energy". Matter-energy conversion is such a powerful process that, if it occurred within a human body, the person would be incinerated. You all flunk freshman physics.
The weight--and the mass that causes the weight--is ultimately excreted in the urine as fat molecules are broken down in the process of losing weight. In that process, chemical energy in the BONDS between atoms is released, but no matter is converted to energy.

If I knew where it went I would be a successful dietor because I would never go near where it went and was hiding.
I am beginning to suspect that it hangs out in all those places are where I like to eat. I lose the weight and then I visit those places and I miraculously find the weight again If not this it must br invisibly stuck to my dinner ware.

It hovers over you just waiting for you to slip up so it can come running back!!!! No, seriously, I think what happens is that what is not used for energy just goes out with the rest of the bodily waste.

usually it is toned up and if you gain weight while trying to lose it, it is not necessarily a bad thing because it may be muscle and muscle weighs more than fat ~ some times it is just water weight or lost with calories(sweat)
