I agree that just because something is "exepensive" doesn't mean it's of good quality, or worth getting. Also, what you consider "expensive" might b different than what I consider "expensive". Twenty dollars, roughly, is my limit on clothing, $25 if I literally need it and he thrift stores aren't panning out or it's something I wouldn't necessarily buy used, like shoes. (I definately do not do used underwear or bras.) I don't do "expensive". I do thrift stores and I still have some brands that I like. However, the only pair of jeans that I've gotten and have not liked is Calvin Klein. They were tight for 12s, but since I bought them at a thrift store, it's feasible that they had shrunk. Also, I tried tugging them on one day and a belt loop ripped. I decided that if that's the kind of quality the jeans are (having never had that problem from a pair of jeans from, say, Wal-Mart), I would not buy a pair new, though they are more than what I want to pay.
All of the jeans I have now (six pairs-- two 12s and four 14s) came from thrift stores. I have a pair of Lees, Levi's (maybe two pairs of one of those, they're both 14s) and my 12s are from New York and Company and Express. Both 12s are nice, but the Express are my favorite, as they're low cut and look a bit nicer than the NY & Co pair. I got them both at Goodwill and I know I paid Goodwill's full price of $4 for the Express since I literally needed the jeans and they fit and looked great, even though they were probably a size too big. (I was underweight at the time and wanted to gain weight and I was not going to buy a pair of 10s that I wanted to grow out of.) Also, they were nice and long, actually falling past my ankle. I'm six feet tall and have had to settle for pants that have been a bit on the short side because it's better than going naked.
The NY & Co. jeans are also nice and long, but are high waisted and I don't like the cut as well. I would wear those on days when I didn't think I would be going anywhere and just staying home. (I'm a housewife/SAHM so it's not like I have occasion to get dressed up much anymore, except for church.)
Even the Lees and Levi's are good jeans, too, in terms of how they look and comfort. However, those are a bit short as I bought them when I literally needed jeans and had to settle for a shorter length. (They were also purchased at thrift stores, maybe even yard sales for under $5.)
However, I like the Express jeans to the point that I deliberately look for the brand when I go to Goodwill. That brand first, and the other aforementioned brands second.

well the ones you try on and you think they look the best.. every pair of pants is gonna look different on your body type than some one else, so go to the store and try some one.. and not all expensive jeans are gonna last a long time.. ambercrombie jeans seem to last for ever, levi's, gap, and guess jeans are sll suposed to hold up quite well.. and i heard lucky jeans are made well too.. my ex was a fashion designer.. so i would take her word for it..

Levis. I've been experimenting lately with different kinds of pants, and I don't like the way any of them fit, so I bought a pair of levis, and now I'm happy again. I think I'll just buy levis from now on.

just because jeans are expensive doesn't mean they're going to make you look good. seriously, why waste money on a piece of clothing. get some good jeans that aren't going to drill a hole the pockets right afterwards.

I wear Levis. They're affordable, always in style, and great quality. If you want to waste money, you could get the Levi Capital E brand.

Here is a link for American Eagle jeans. They are really comfortable. I have a bunch of pairs of them, and they are really long-lasting too.
