I work in a call center...and YES MOST Americans are to ignorant to even say Goodbye.

I know what you mean. Lol. I am a receptionist at a hotel and it drives me mad when people just hang up. I will be in the middle of bye and I hear a click. Its like ok.....
Ive gotten used to it though. Some people are just in a hurry.

Everyone I know says goodbye, bye, talk to you later, or something along those lines. I know on some TV shows they don't, but I've never heard anyone in my actual life not say something at the end of a phone conversation.

I have known one American in my life who consistently ended phone conversations without saying some sort of goodbye - my grandfather. And most of my family members teased him about it.

WOW!!!!! You know most americans??? That must be very difficult to stay in touch with "most americans".
I have never experienced this except with psycho girlfriends.
