so they give me a picture. it is a rectangle with 2 half circles. one on each side. well they dont give me the radius

how do i find the radius? the width is 329 m and the length is 300 m

The radius of the half circle is half the length of the side that the half circle is attached to.
Think about it ☺

If the circles are attached to smaller side of the rectangle

then diameter of the circle = 300 m

radius = 300/2 = 150 meters

If the circles are attached to larger side of the rectangle

then the diameter of the ciecle = 329 m

radius = 329/2 = 164.5 meters

Are the sides of the circle touching the rectangle? If they are, then diameter is the width, and the radius is half of that.

you have to be more specific. are the half circles inside the rectangle? do the sides of the rectangle touch the circle? etc.

what they gave you is a net drawing. it is a "unfolded" cylinder. your only suposed to do the area of the retangle, the circles are just there to confuse you, which they have.
