I went to the doctor for my annual and that was a month ago. Ever since I left her office, I have been bleeding. I would say that for the most part it has been light to moderate but not like a normal menstrual cycle. I am not on birth control because my husband and I want another baby. I waited about 2 weeks to call my OB back to ask about the bleeding thinking that it was just normal since I had my annual. She instructed me to wait a week. I did, and was still bleeding so she just put me on the pill to make it stop and she would not explain what caused it. The bleeding is very strange, sometimes orangish or pink, and watery. It is very different from menstrual. Does anyone have any ideas? I am worried that she caused me to miscarriage by being to rough during my annual. Is that possible? Thank you for your responses in advance!

I highly doubt you had a miscarriage. With a miscarriage, you would have had intense cramping, bright red bleeding with the passing of clots and tissue. The bleeding would be very heavy during the actual miscarriage then taper off and stop completely within a few weeks. Extended bleeding only continues when some of the placenta remains behind but doctors can tell via the size of your uterus and the softening of your cervix that you are/were pregnant.

Also a "rough" annual will not cause a miscarriage. The exam does not involve the inside of your uterus so the exam could not dislodge an implanted embryo. It takes a lot to "cause" a miscarriage...in fact, most women don't even miscarry after a fall early in pregnancy.

This extended bleeding can be caused by so many things and the most common is hormonal imbalance. It happens. It can also be caused by endometriosis, fibroids, pcos and so many other things. Extended bleeding, when a first time occurrence, is usually treated with medication to stop the bleeding. Should it continue to occur, tests will be done to check your hormone levels and to check for the other possibilities that I listed above.
