The original with Fay Wray. But, the real star of that movie was the man who designed the special effects, including King Kong himself. He was rescued from oblivion while residing at the movie industry's nursing home by George Lucas and was given "emeritus" status with Industrial Light Magic Company, Lucas's special effects outfit. He helped created the "E.T." doll.

I like the old Kong with Fay Wray, but the new one with Naomi Watts and Jack Black is very good too. Good special effects!
