Because no matter how wise, self-educated or intelligent we are the fact is we live in a society that will always be divided into class. We will label ourselves based on socially marked achievements. We love it, and we love being able to differentiate ourselves from others. Its part of being an individualistic society.
The guys born on top hold the chips, and if we are gonna get any of them we have to play their game, by their rules. We have to learn their system.
Life is one big competitive sport. The only way we will ever get out of it is if all of the people of the world collectively "storm the Bastille". (Not happening any time soon.)
But this works too, it keeps us productive (to what end I'm not sure). Just make the best of it.

Heck specific, i'm indignant! I grew up in the suburbs, for pete's sake. Throwing a be conscious like "hood" into the verbal substitute is basically stupid. you somewhat theory she'd locate it eye-catching? And utilising a word like "she blacks out on me" makes you appear to be a racist douche. you're stereotyping, common and straightforward. not all black everybody is hood. i'm certainly not. Attributing her to a girl in a rap video is fairly ill, too. i wish you study from this and notice not all black females are an identical, dude.

It isn't really accurate to lump both together. It's like adding apples and oranges. What you get is fruit, neither one or the other.
However; there is usually a symbiotic relationship between the two.

Because we are supposed to respect hard work and education is hard work and high income is taken as a mark of earnest and diligent work.
Besides, it is tough to introduce someone and know the truth of introduction and say "This is Janet and she has a deep inner soul. Jane this is Mary and her faith is boundless."

when we hear low income or uneducated, our first thought are "unimportant", "or not as good as the rest of us" because they dont make as much or they do not have as much book smarts. this is a sterotype of these groups of people. people in our society judge the people based on these facts, and, therefore, if they are uneducated or have a low income, they are not important or not as smart as the rest of the people. this is a horrible thing, i know, but its the truth, and the way of todays society.

People self-identify by their career or occupation because they are generally proud of what they do. I don't think that necessarily means anyone "looks down on" them.

Because society is full of insecure individuals who wanted to feel good about themselves. One way to feel good is to lift yourself up by looking down on other people who you perceive as lesser beings than you.
