You don't say if your cooker is plugged to the mains or not. If it's plugged to the mains, most probably just broken. If it isn't it's most probably a flat battery, if you have a cooker with a flap under the oven, like a storage space, the battery will be there, if the oven goes almost all the way down to the floor, it will be underneath if, probably mounted on a hinged piece of metal.

I can't really tell you without knowing the brand or model, but you should be able to find out about it on the instructions' manual. If you don't have one, look for the website of your cooker's brand, sometimes they have downloads of the manuals that you an print or just read online.

Gas Hob Ignition Button

Some cookers require that you turn the gas on and then push the same button in. On others, there's a separate ignition button. As a temporary measure, you can buy a gas igniter for around 2 or 3 quid which is safer than a match.

you can buy a replacement switch. When they are not used the switch can go bad and stop working. They are under $10.00 at WAL MART.

Check the connections, and depending whether its a Piezo lighter or battery, it may need a battery.

Is the plug in and switched on? If so, try changing the fuse.
