I want to get along with my housemates but there are a lot of them. I'm fine talking to a maximum of three people but after that I feel I can't talk freely and end up saying nothing at all. People are ok with it at first but after a bit they start to maybe think i'm strange. Are there any tricks of the trade that could help me talk to people especially in groups I really want to get along with everyone.

Perhaps you look wiser than they for keeping your mouth shut. If you can tackle a group of three you do not actually have a problem. Look at the others, do they have anything to say which is actual;ly worth listening to, the chances are that it is very little. So when you need to speak forth the others will be quite shocked and probably come our with put downs such as, "God God it speaks" That is the time to speak forth, whilst they are stunned.
