Pro-life organizations are trying to build support for the legal definition that an unborn child is a person to exploit a weakness that was cited by author Harry Blackmun when he wrote the creative Roe V. Wade abortion precedent in 1973.

It was the Roe author, Blackmun, who concluded: "(If the) suggestion of personhood [of the preborn] is established, the [abortion rights] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment."

I am 100% PRO LIFE and pray federally funded abortions end. This is a decision between a doctor and the mother and father of the unborn child. Why are my hard earned tax dollars being used to fund this horrible murder of unborn children?

When a country throws away their belief in God, you get people who don't care about life. People become selfish and cruel. They close their eyes to the horrible torture of unborn children when mothers choose to end the life their own children.

How can a woman say it is just her body? What about the baby's body? Why doesn't the baby have a right to life? Even an animal tries to protect its babies from harm.

Of course an unborn child is a person. Dr. Ron Paul, who has delivered over 4000 babies, has never seen a reason to murder an unborn child. He did however witness an abortion once.

The child was born breathing and crying, but because the mother didn't want the child, the doctor tossed the 2 pound baby in a bucket and stuck it in the corner of the room to die.

This is abortion.

I pray that if we have enough true Christians left in our nation, that they will put an end to this horror. Why are people so cruel to the innocent?

Some have asked what will happen when the "unwanted" child is born. Well, I guess if you don't know what causes a baby to be conceived, you probably shouldn't be intimately involved with the opposite sex. If you choose to be intimate, then what you conceive is your responsibility, not a piece of trash that you can throw away.

It is a real live baby - just like the ones who have been removed from the mother. It is a baby who has very sensitive nerves that have been newly developed by 6 weeks from conception - before a lot of women even know they're pregnant.

This little 6 week old unborn has fingernails, eyelids, responds to touch, has a brain and a heart that's beating. When this little infant is 7 weeks old, the baby can hiccup and become startled by noise, can touch his/her hands together, and has a complex brain that is learning by the minute.

Would you be able to end the life of this child if he/she grabbed your finger instead of the doctor's as they were killing the baby? People describe an unborn child as a fetus to keep from acknowledging that this is a real baby. Fetus sounds more like a piece of tissue, much less personal or humanlike than what I just described.

The problem with government involvement in abortion laws; is as follows, imho:

if the government can tell you to not have an abortion now,

they can later exercise the same right and power, to tell you at a later time that the official opinion has changed, and state that abortion is to be performed.

The primary value here is; individual rights, not rights of the government, it is NOT a question of whether or not the government will make the correct judgement or impose the correct value--it is a matter of individual rights over the rights of the State to impose a belief system; hence, the concern with ideology presention via the government.

All health decisions; must be made within the Dr patient privacy standards without involvement of the government.

So what you are saying is that you prefer women get abortions (they are going to happen whether you like it or not) in the filth of dark alleys using a coat hanger rather than in a clean well lighted clinic under trained medical staff. This is very typical of the right and merely shows how much they really care about people. They posture with words saying one thing but their actions result in something else. What hypocrisy.

I can see the argument for wanting to outlaw abortions. I don't agree with pro-lifers. I believe everyone should have the choice. If you find abortions morally wrong, then don't have one when you become pregnant. I don't see it as being morally wrong at all. It's what I want to do with my body. I think it's interesting to see all the Pro-Life people with their signs on the side of the road and 95% of them are men. If your body is incapable of carrying a child for 9 months then shut up! You have no right to decide what we do with our bodies. It's not about a woman "getting herself pregnant" and then not wanting to deal with it. Some people are raped or their life is in jeopardy or they just don't want their body to go through the hell that it goes through during a pregnancy. If you don't face that problem then keep your opinion to yourself. Don't push YOUR morals on MY body.

Probably but I don't think it means all abortions will be banned. They will probably just put more restrictions on it. I'm pro-choice but I think they should ban all late term abortions unless the life of the mother is in jeopardy. I think that the "life beings at conception" argument is too radical. A fertilized egg doesn't feel pain and it's not a life yet. They should ban abortions after 2 months though because the babies are already forming and they can feel pain.

I don't think Roe vs Wade will be overturned. I get both sides of the argument. The pro-life is all about protecting innocent children. The pro-life is all about keeping with the American freedom of choices.

I personally support pro-choice. I think it's insanely hypocritical of the pro-lifers to support war but think they can control a woman's body. I don't listen to any man that is pro-life. I will listen to a woman's argument but not a man who can never become pregnant.

And to the person that said "what is it a chimp fetus"...um...no...it's a cluster of cells. When do you define life? When it's two cells or when there's a heartbeat or when it's forming to look like an actual person or when it can vote Republican?

Overturning Roe v Wade won't make abortion illegal. Will only revert it back to a state issue....exactly how it should be.

overturning Roe v Wade will be a disaster for Republicans and abortion will be made illegal in only a few states. So I'm all in favor of overturning Roe v Wade.
