don't like it, not very manly for when he's a grown man someday, give him a strong name

Not bad for a middle name. But it might be embarrassing for him to stand up in a college classroom at age 20 and say aloud, "My name is Skyler Jones (or whatever last name)." If he can use the Kyle in most instances, he won't be so embarrassed.

The first though that pops in my head is that South Park episode, where Timmy joins that band, Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld. Then, their guitarist Skyler breaks off and did a solo project, Reach For the Skyler.

It sounds very cutesy and feminine to me. I don't think it's name that grows up well.

Sorry but I don't like it for a boy, I have a niece named Skyler, so I instantly think of a girl when I hear the name.

Is that used for either gender? I know a couple that named their daughter Skyler.

I like the name Kyler....that's my son's name! Skyler sounds a bit more feminine to me.

I find it borders on being too girly & makes me think of the nickname Skye, which is quite girly. Not trying to be rude or anything, just my honest opinion.
