If you were stuck on the Earth, would you need Oxygen?Duhhh!!!
So it would appear that you do need oxygen, even on earth, so why not if you go elsewhere?
Oxygen is required to asssist in the break down the simple sugars required in human cell metabolism inorder to produce energy.
Simply put: Oxgen plus Glucose equals Energy plus Carbon Dioxide plus Water.
(O2 + C6H12O6 = Energy + CO2 + H2O)
Hope this helps.

You would need more than that because it is a vacuum - not only would you need oxygen for breathing, but additional gases to provide pressure and a container - space suit or pressurized housing with insulation to keep out the heat in daytime and cold in darkness.

No, you would need AIR to survive. The air we breathe is 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen and that is what the astronauts bring along with them or manufacture.
