For a healthy philosophical discussion, the only limitations should be on the things that are irrelevant, absurd, and impossible to know or form an opinion on. Examples:
What happened before the big bang?
Could invisible dragons only exist for only some people to see?

Yes, violence in the name of philosophical ideology should be excluded from the discussion. When a philosophy embraces violence as a tool, the innocent and powerless are victimized. This has proven to result in evil time and again. For example, the idea that our religion is the one true religion and others are in opposition to God's will has led to countless deaths and acts of destruction. It is not only religious philosophies that have led to evil. Communism, or more accurately, the philosophy that all the members of a given society must conform to the ideology of communism or suffer violence led to the deaths of tens of millions. Advocate whatever philosophy you like, just do not advocate violence against those who do not conform to it. As Philip Roth once wrote, "You shouldn't hit anybody about God."
I would oppose the view that the "ridiculous" or "absurd" should be excluded. There was a time when the idea that women should be allowed to vote or slaves should be freed was considered ridiculous and absurd.

It depends on who is having the discussion, and also what the discussion is about. There is, after all, a difference between philosophy and fantasy.

"Say to all the congregation of the people of Israel, You shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy. "You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason with your neighbor, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
