I guess Big Brother is pretending to care about your health once again.
You would think they'd want all the tax money possible from tobacco and alcohol.

They just want to be sure they are making it harder for young people under age to buy cigarettes and alcohol, wouldn't you be more mad if someone sold your 16 year old cigarettes and alcohol??? Better to be safe than sorry!

No one slips through if everyone gets carded every time is the theory. It's a zero tolerance type thing.
It bothers you? try being the checkout clerk getting lectured on how stupid the stupid policy is 9 out of 10 times.
