60's: Beatles. love them but they wernt the best.
70's: KIss. self explanatory
80's: U2. Good but not THAT good
90's: Nirvana. MY favorite band but they are a little overrated
NOw: Fall OUt Boy. Once again, self explanatory.

U2, back in the day, not that i was around then.
but they're still highly overrated.
"Classic" rock is overrated. Sorry, I should say "glam" rock, e.g. Kiss, Queen, etc.
Nirvana. Kurt Cobain wasn't that great, IMHO.
FallOut Boy in this day and age. I like them all right, but Pete Wentz is severely annoying. Their hype is not in proportion to their talent. They're not very good live, without all the glossy studio sound.
But no way are the Beatles or the White Stripes overrated. They're amazing, and rightly so.

60s-Big Brother & The Holding Company....Janis Joplin was a horrible singer
70s-Led Zeppelin...good band, but a bit over hyped
80s-Guns 'N Roses...Appetite was a good album, but are they really one of the greatest bands of all time??
90s-Nirvana-Cobain was a shoddy guitarist and had a terrible voice
00s-Where to start?? White Stripes, MCR, Nickelback...I could go on and on...

quite simply, KISS. they were not particular
noted musicians. their lyrics could have been written by jr. high schoolers. if you ignore their gimmicky costumes and over the top cartoonish persona's you can see that their music is very ordinary and childish.
when you think of a list of great musicians from rock history, no member of Kiss is likely to be on any of them.
