Is it because the UN didn't want another war?

Ok, I need examples as to why people feel this way. I genuinely do not know why this is and am looking for clarification.

This is what I heard.
The UN is a body of nations to help prevent large scale conflicts like world war one and two.
The League of Nations was the first type of U.N following world war one, but failed.
The UN constitution doesn't match the US constitution.
But guess what?
US forces are ordered to serve the UN, but sworn to protect the US constitution from any domestic or foreign threats.
Which in one case, had a US solider court-martialed for following just that oath, and denied following an illegal order from a European commander to change his uniform flag from a US to UN flag.
Also, the UN is the center of many, MANY stories of the New World Order and world domination.
Most people don't this, but one rumor is that the UN is trying to build its own army, while regular nations will be disarmed in the process
The UN has has a base here the US (New York City), and have command over US armed forces, and it is a corrupt, deadbeat organization which drains the US budget.
Which, to me, makes it a threat to the US on all levels.
I don't know the whole story, but I don't like the UN just because it conflicts with US consittution and resembles an invading force.

It's because the UN is largely paid for by the USA.
They make resolutions and demands but do nothing to enforce them. They are an impotent organization and a black-hole for us taxpayer money.
When the US is finally fed up with their toothless demands, and moves to enforce them...they are resoundingly urinated upon by the money swallowing member nations.

The UN is like our democrat led congress it does nothing but suck money and badmouth America
The question is what has the UN ever done for the betterment of the world?

You got it backwards. The UN or at least half of that worthless entity hates America. I don't understand how people can't see that we are the financial and military backbone of the UN, and still treat us like criminals. Bunch of cowards they are!

The US is the biggest provider of funds to the UN. When we went to a questionable war they backed out of support. I don't blame them but why are they taking our money and more importantly, why don't we get out???

The UN is a gabfest for Commies. It always sides with despots, Moslems, and corrupt third world tinhorn dictators. It has no fairness. It steals our money. Left wing ideologue, America haters dominate its staff. It achieves very little without the US. It contains Russia and China.

There are many Islamic nations represented in the UN. All they do is moan and whine about Israel. Why give them a forum so they can spew their hate about the 'Evil Jews'. We will listen your complaints about the Jews when you leave the Stone Ages and join modern civilization!
What do we have in common with North Korea, Iran, Venezuala ect.....These people are given seats at the UN and the USA foots 80% of the tab.
Enough is Enough!
Let the USA form it's own alliances. We don't need the UN!!!

Because the UN wants it's member nations to be responsible and to cooperate with international interests.
The U.S. is a rogue nation and rejects the good of other nations. It is a capitalistic society that is only concerned with it's own wealth and power.
That will change, or the countries of the world will unite against America and remove the global threat.
