It all depends on the reputation of the reader, and how comfortable you are having your past, present & future looked into. Here is a first-hand story for you:
I worked in a company where I met a woman who worked as a secretary. I've had interest in psychic phenomena for a very long time, and wanted to form a group of interested people. She was one of the first to join. There were about 8 people in the group where we would sit for an hour & discuss experiences, methods, etc....This woman (Janice) had been scientifically tested for accuracy with a result of 85%!! She needed no tarot cards, palmistry or anything like that. She had a spirit that spoke to her, and acted as a go-between between the physical world and the spirit world. I brought her a notebook from the sister of a friend of mine that was having a very difficult time. As she held the book in her hands, she told me a number of things about my friend's sister, and what she can do to help herself. When I reported what was said, the sister was awed....it was all true. She made a few changes in her daily life based on the suggestions that Janice made and quickly became much happier and more content in her life.
Don't know where you live, but if you ever get to Salem, MA, stop by "Crow Haven Corner" (a witch shop) and request a reading by Laurie Cabot. She is a powerful witch, and "the" official witch of Salem. I think there is a website you can check for. I haven't been back there in about 10 years, but I would imagine that either she or her daughters are still running the shop and doing readings.
Be careful who you go to. A lot of these "readers" are fakes that rely on your reactions to lead them to telling you what you want to hear. If you can, get references.
Good luck.

Yeah it was a bit random, though. This guy's father is a naturally born palm reader. The guy however, did it from what he's learned from when his father was around him. He admitted he barely knows much with was swell. Since, I hate misleading people. Ok so he said that I'd have many flings and only 2 real serious relationships. The first one lasts a few years. The other one was my most longest one and by the looks of it he said it seemed to have just ended abruptly. He goes over to my life line and says, maybe that's why the 2nd one ends all of a sudden. Cause I die before the average life span. He says the cause of my death is so abrupt when it happens it'd just happen, no way to escape it. He says I have many, many talents that are underdeveloped. But, he's not able to be exact about it. And that was it.

Go in with an open mind and a note pad. Write down all the things the person sees, see if they come true. Take it all for entertaiment purposes only.
