No it is just looking for cellular changes. Sometimes these show specific HPV changes, this is sexually transmitted and is the trigger for cervical cancer. If however you are concerned about infections you would need a full screen with blood, swabs and urine tests.

No, it cannot test for specific STD's. But if the results come back abnormal, it may indicate the presence of an STD. If you're concerned about having an STD, you should ask your doctor to test specifically for them with a urine or blood test.

Sometimes an irregular pap test can be an indicator of the STD, HPV, but, no it does not specifically detect STDs.

yes because one time i had thrush and i didn't know and they let me know.
