YES !!!!! Think along these lines, in the smaller towns, at least 15 miles from a large city, a 3 bedroom , 2 bath home, +/- 1200 sq. ft. can be built for less than $20,000 USD.. A nice home, +/- 1700 sq. ft. ( i.e. Houston, Texas @ $125,000.00) can be built for about $45,000.00 to $50,000.00 USD.!!!! I have a retirement home in the Mexico Mountains and know of whence I speak)
Now, what would you do, IF the shoes were on your feet?
Realitycheck, AS A GENERAL rule, the "average - pro-medio" income is about The equivalent to $400.00 USD per month. Still, YEP, about ONE years average wage, there.

I often wondered where that money would go if the bill passed? And if they defaulted? What then? Open borders and illegal aliens have been on the table over 20 yrs. Ask Teddy Kennedy. All thru Clinton's administration. Why am I to believe she can fix this any better that her Health Care reform goofs and NAFTA that left the US more available to illegals rather than fair trade of goods we got trade of peoples.
