The cover story on the upcoming issue of American Conservative magazine will paint an extremely unflattering picture of General Petraeus, branding him a "Sycophant Savior",
accusing him of telling the Administration of what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear, that he has broken faith with the troops, and that he has failed his country.
Will the republicans attack the magazine with the same fervor they had when they went after moveon.org over the "betray us" ad? Will they draft and approve legislation condemning the American Conservative?

lasuremartin: Where in the ad does moveon accuse the General or the troops of the things you're saying? Here's a link to the ad copy, since it's pretty obvious you've never seen it:

thank you for pointing this out. By the way, for you Conservatives, the word "sycophant" means: a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite.
Wow, I don't think MoveOn was that hard on the guy. But don't hold your breath for the hypocrites to have a vote on this in Congress.

"David Petraeus is a political general. Yet in presenting his recent assessment of the Iraq War and in describing the “way forward,” Petraeus demonstrated that he is a political general of the worst kind—one who indulges in the politics of accommodation that is Washington’s bread and butter but has thereby deferred a far more urgent political imperative, namely, bringing our military policies into harmony with our political purposes."

LOl excellent point, it's obvious when confronted by logic and a need for consistent attitude about perceived 'injustices", the Con Trolls in here will have no choice but to call you a socialist, communist, Islamofascist, pandering, liberal, leftwing, koolaid-drinking moonbat pantywaist who salutes the Kremlin and Kim Jong Il every morning before doing everything in your power to undermine the "Traditional Family Values" (you remember, woman in the kitchen, man with the mistress or beating the kids) and urinate on the American flag, while their abject fear of anything not rich, old and white prohibits them from ever coming up with solutions which don't involce bombing women's clinics or invading non-aggressive (but oil-rich) countries.

2 undeniable truths:
1. moveon.org did not lie about Petraeus.
2. Petraeus essentially parroted the Bush administration position in running the Iraq war.

Lol, how very ironic! Even their own can see the truth. I guess there are some enlightened people in the Republican party after all!

No Cowboy, I believe they will try to ignore it.
I do commend the magazine for speaking the truth.

Bill O'Reilly will take care of it like he took care of the Moveon.org founder.
