With so many people clicking on "thumbs down" to answers that are truthful and factual, do the visitors Yahoo Answers reflect the collective population of the country? The fact that so many voters seem this uneducated is starting to make me feel uneasy.

What I also find disturbing is the distortion of the past. I find an entirely different slant on actual events from just 30 years ago.
There are just so many people in the country today whose living memory only goes back 10 or 15 years. The facts of the past can be easily altered to this group.

Well, you have a point! I only give a thumbs-down when someone is disrespectful or makes erroneous generalizations.

I would never give a thumbs-down just because I disagree with someones personal opinion. We all have the right to our own opinions and we should treat each other with respect. That's the only way that debates and forums like this stay fun.
