Do you think this should only be used on the track? I'm not talking about 100 MPH sweepers but in slower turns where more traction would be nice. A talent or a #$%@^& nuisance?

Far as I can see, There's two definitions- A newbie without a clue and a person who just drives too fast, either very skilled or sometimes over their head, which is somewhere in between.

Only a weasel would insult me with a typerwriter. What if I lean to the inside and not touch down. Is that okay with you?

Knee dragging on the street is just plain suicidal.
Street surfaces have to many imperfections (tar snakes, pot holes, painted lines, manhole covers, asphalt patches) and road debris (sand & dirt, road kill, liter & other junk).
Then you have your tires, which don't have the traction properties of race slicks.
It's a recipe for disaster.

It's a talent. A very hard acquired talent. Squidish behavior?... hmmm, yes and no. Yes because you're on the street among the general public and no, because again, its an acquired talent not capable of squids.

Just be sure you're in a somewhat controlled environment thats clear of road debris (gravel, dirt, etc.). Most street tires like Metzeler M3's, Michelin Pilot Power's, etc. are also very good tires to accomplish this feat so traction shouldn't be an issue. And don't forget the most important part; wear proper gear!

Im not sure If I understand the question fully. Are you asking if your Being a squid because you can knee drag on the street? or if a "squid" cause its being a little to wild on the street? then heck no! squids cant do anything but try to look cool but usually wreck out. I always thought a squid was a newbie? Knee dragging is impressive im my world and very difficult for a newbie to even do or accomplish. Matter-a-fact Ive never seen a newbie knee drag unless they were on there way down. lol
when I knee drag on the street vs. the track I'm always Impressed with my self and usually have a lil smile under my helmet. but then quickly remind my self Im on the street Not the track so I need to cool it down a bit!
every one "acts out" a lil on the street -here and there- but its up to you to keep it under control and dont be "that guy", you know?
like in everything keep it in moderation!
MOST IMPORTANT;
Ride safe man!

You'd just look silly trying that on the street. I shake my head at people who do things like that. (as one poster mentioned about the hazards). And yes that would qualify as being a 'squid'.
If you can do it on the truck, thumbs up. But make sure you leave those skills and tricks there at the track where they belong.

Do your knuckles also drag when you walk?

Anytime you touch a part of your body to the pavement while operating a motorcycle on the street, you are going too fast, or turning too sharply for street conditions.

Yes... You are being a SQUID!
