I have no clue, but stereotypes are getting pretty crazy these days.
Some of my friends are actually cutting themselves and I think they actually take themselves pretty seriously while they do that,
but in my opinion they just look like they want to feel like a part of the stereotypes and the labels.. just to be in style maybe??
It's getting pretty sick sad to say.
But all I can say is the ones who actually label themselves sound like posers to me.

Theyare trying to get attention. it means they are emotional and dark. A good example is the loser lead singer of Greenday. They went from punk to Emo to try and redefine themselves and now they sing about revolution and how terrible America is even though they are Euros and don't even know America. What the hell?

I get called emo and scene all the time. I just laugh. I dress in what I like, not to fit a stereotype. But, it's a trend for our generation, and people are just going along with it to "fit in"

I didn't know Emo Phillips was so popular nowadays. I couldn't stand him in the 80's and now people are dressing like him, but they sure ain't acting like him.

they are always depressed and think they are cool if they say emo. all the 'emos' are telling me they are bi now cos its more of a fashion

Because they think bands like FOB and such consider themselves emo and want to be like them.
Personally, I think it's pathetic.

because mommy and daddy didnt hug them enough when they were growing up. its just a phase these people forcefully put themselves through for attention
