Must be 25 years ago when I was 8, my Aunt worked at a fire station and one of the firemen sat me on his knee and slid down the pole, if only I'd been old enough to appreciate it at the time!!!!!

I visited a fire station which has become a historical museum a couple years ago. But the staff would not allow visitors to slide down the pole.

About thirty years ago. I was teaching a class, as an outside contractor, and was being shown the station. I had the opportunity, and took advantage of it. It was fun.
