First you need to get over the loss of your child, this will take time. I am very sorry for your loss. Find a good support group with other who have lost their children, it will help. Then you can let nature take its course. Your body needs time to heal itself. Good Luck and God Bless.

I'm sorry for the loss of your baby.

As to what your doctor said about waiting, unless you have a medical condition or some risk factor, it's up to the couple as to when they want to start trying to conceive again. For some that's 5 weeks - for others it's 5 months or more.

Make sure you have taken time to grieve, and when you feel confident then begin again.

Your cycles might be slightly irregular for a while but your periods will return pretty quickly, perhaps within 1-2 months.

My previous 2 pregnancies ended in miscarriage and both times I had the D & C done. I got my period both times about 5 weeks afterwards. It took me 12 months initially to get pregnant. After the 1st m/c I got pregnant again 12 weeks later. After the 2nd m/c I got pregnant 16 weeks later and I'm now 10 weeks pregnant. You can try to get pregnant when you feel ready. Sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is. Chin up and good luck for the next one sweetie. xxx

It's not any easier to get pregnant after a D&C. If anything, it could be harder if there was any scar tissue in the uterus- but that's rare so don't worry about it at all.

There's no rush - don't try until you feel like you're ready. All losses are hard, and it takes time to adjust and learn to live with it. Don't push yourself.
