well that person is taking you for granted. it sucks, but don't stop doing what you're doing. sometimes it's a thankless job.

I just had this experience so the wound is still tender. A friend of both of us asked for a place to stay for a few months. Around the time she was due to leave, she had to go into the hospital for a serious operation. I visited almost every day & did everything I could to cheer her up. Obviously she came back to our house. I had 2 other people help me clean, so that there would be a minimum of germs. She couldn't bend over, so everything in the fridge she needed had to be on the top shelf. I got microwave meals for her so she could be more independant. I drove her to all of her Dr appts & therapy sessions. Last, but not least, I cancelled a weekend we were looking forward to for a year. She decided to go see her friend because she won tickets for a comedian, so she took a trip against her Dr's orders & lied to me. (She said she wouldn't do it without her Dr's approval). She was only supposed to be in a vehicle for 30 min at a time. In other words, I bent over backwards for her & she lied to me & did what she wanted when she started to feel better. I feel used. Then, instead of apologizing to me, she insulted me & called me names! I'm sticking to rescuing animals from now on.

I agree with Bronxite!
I bent over backwards and jumped through burning hoops for my husbands family and didn't once get a thank you or the slightest bit of acknowledgment in return.
So i have nothing to do with them now.
Seems they only call on us when they want something anyway, so we said to heck with it, you don't deserve it!

I find that some people think the world owe them something, so when you do something for them, its nothing special, they just think it was theirs already.........these people will never be grateful for anything.....and they are users......

Lower your expectations.
