iPods have become so popular, scammers are making there own versions, but even the boxes are fake.

When you first look at them, fake ones look very realistic

But the fake iPod shuffle has not repeat on the on/off switch

The fake iPod nano has a very different screen shape and the interface is nothing like a real iPod.

You can see real and fake iPods compared side-to-side here:

Well, it's rather hard to get a fake iPod. However, visually an iPod looks quite different from everything else especially if it's got the scroll, then it's definitely an iPod. If it doesn't connect to your computer via the USB cable or isn't recognised by iTunes, then there's definitely a problem.

I bought my iPod Nano via eBay. What I discovered was that the serial number etched into the back of it was different than the serial number contained in the internal software. The upshot is that, since the numbers didn't match, it was a recycled, un-registered, counterfeit iPod. However, it works great 18 months later, and I couldn't be happier.

lol plug it into your computer and if itunes doesnt recognise it then i doubt its an apple ipod. But as its been said above if its not apple it wont look anything like it looks on the website. Because style like that just doesnt get designed in hong kong.
