A few times. The most I cried was when my favorite dog was let out by my dad the evening prior. The next day I was on my way to soccer (football) practice and discovered him dead on the side of the road.

I cry over the death of any animal. Pets in this house are members of the family. I've cried terribly over every pet that has passed on. They all had wonderful lives. Two months ago, my beloved Spiffy died. She was a min pin and I'd had her for 13 yrs. The last several yrs. she'd have surgery to remove growths, then we found out she was diabetic. We probably spent more money on vet bills than for us humans that lived with her. She passed away beneath my daughter's bed (where she slept and went underneath when she didn't feel well). I was at work when I got the call. My daughter had looked everywhere for her. The cats and other two dogs were acting funny and hanging around her bed. That's how she found her. My husband buried her on the hill where my to beloved potbellies that had passed on over time were buried. I came home, hysterical. I told my daughter (who had already cried her eyes out) and my husband that I needed time a lone. I took a ride and ended up at a Conservation area that Spiffy and I would go to often. In my hysterical rational, I decided that that was where she should be laid to rest. I moved her to a nice place under a big tree. I wrapped her in a fave tie dye shirt with a note saying that we'd see her again. I go there every week to undwind from a crappy night at work and I know she is there with me. I felt so dumb calling everyone I knew, sobbing. But they all understood as she had been my "road dog" for all those yrs. I now am down to two older cats (one who is special as the person who gave him to me is no longer with us) and two Aussie dogs- of course they are special also. But to have a dog that was with me in good times and bad, really grew up with my daughter and would have traded all of us in for a treat- I was devastated. I can still sometimes feel that I should here her coming to greet me at the door. I will never get over losing her, but I will have stories of all the crap that she pulled to last a lifetime.
I love my pets more than most people.
R.I.P Spiffy.

Of course. I cry everyday for some dog gone by and horses of my past. Most recently I lost an angel of a horse after 23 years and 9 months. He died last December at age almost 29 and I'm having a really difficult time getting over it. So yeah, my pets are the dearest things to me and I grieve for them when they pass.

Yeah, my dog died when I was 6 and she died while I was asleep so I didn't really get to say good bye. And I am sure I will cry when my cat dies because I love my kitty so much!

The only pet I had was my unfortunate pet tortoise. I was 7 when it died and the only thing I remembered thinking was "Oops?"
